ICTM begins in city today

Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) will begin in the capital's Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel today (Monday), aiming to enhance regional cooperation through tourism.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the three-day conference of February 6, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal told reporters at a press briefing at the secretariat on Sunday.

The Minister said that the ICTM will contribute to creating a unique platform in enhancing tourism among member states, information sharing, experience sharing and formulating long-term plans for tourism development.

The conference will focus on development of Islamic tourism, progress in tourism infrastructure projects, OIC tourism fairs and OIC City of Tourism Award (2019 and 2020), reports UNB.
