Indian, Russian AFD teams meet BN, BAF chiefs

Two delegations of Indian and Russian Armed Forces, who participated in our War of Liberation, have called on Chief of naval staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed at Bangladesh Navy (BN) Headquarters and Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Chief Marshal Abu Esrar at BAF Falcon Hall on Sunday, reports BSS.

Lt Gen (Retd) Jai Bhagwan Singh Yadava led the Indian delegation and Captain (Retd) Stanislav Gorbachev led the Russian team while Bangladeshi defence attaché to India and Russia, officers of armed forces division (AFD) and senior officials of Navy and BAF were present during the meetings, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement on Sunday.

The Navy chief commemorated the contribution of Indian and Russian Armed Forces during Bangladesh liberation war in 1971 with gratitude.

BAF Chief Marshal Abu Esrar handed over commemorative gifts to the members of the delegations and praised the contribution of India and Russia in the Liberation War of our country.
