Inmate dies after falling ill at Dhaka Central Jail

An inmate at Dhaka Central Jail died after falling ill, officials said on Thursday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Abdul Khaleque (65), son of the late Kafil Uddin.

Prison guard Abdullah said Khalek fell ill inside the jail.

On the instructions of the authorities, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 00:30am, where doctors declared him dead.

Khaleque's prison identification number was 6718/A.

Officials did not disclose the nature of the case in which he had been imprisoned.

The body has been kept in the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
