Popular reality show 'Ispahani Mirzapore Banglabid' season -2, was launched on Saturday aiming to motivate the young generation to use and practise Bangla language correctly.
Channel-i organised the inaugural function of the Bangla language and knowledge-based reality show at its office in the capital.
Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman inaugurated the programme as the chief guest while managing director of the Channel-i Faridur Reza Sagar chaired the event.
The country's leading brand Ispahani Mirzapore is the key initiator and sponsor of the Banglabid (experts in Bangla) competition.
This a very popular TV reality show in Bangladesh as 35,000 students participated in the competition last year. The main objective of the competition is to find out the best of persons who are skilled in Bangla language, spelling and use other strata of Bangla grammar.
Students of Class Six to Class Ten from all over the country can take part in the competition primarily.
The participants will have to go through several different selection processes and only those with deep interest in becoming modern- day language fighters are encouraged to register.
The first three winners will get Tk 1.0 million (10 lakh), Tk 0.3 million (three lakh) and Tk 0.2 million (two lakh) respectively.
The first 10 winners will also receive a laptop along with Bangla books and a book-shelf worth Tk 50,000 to create their library.
The registration for the contest started on March 25 and will remain open till April 19, 2018.
An experienced panel of judges consisting of the esteemed representatives of professor of Bangla Department of Dhaka University and language experts will be actively involved in the selection process.
Professor Dr Shamsuzzaman Khan, director general of Bangla Academy, and Shantanu Biswas, chief operating officer of Ispahani Tea Limited, among others, attended the function.
