IUB FormulaE, a student team from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has secured first place in the Shaheed Tanvin Innovation Award category at Innoverse Bangladesh 2025, according to a statement from the university.
The event was held recently at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in the catital.
The team earned the top position with its fully self-developed electric vehicle (EV) powertrain, designed for a Formula Student Electric Vehicle. At the core of the system is a redesigned low-voltage three-phase induction motor engineered to enhance safety, accessibility, and efficiency for local EV applications.
Innoverse Bangladesh 2025 was organised by Whiteboard Initiatives with support from the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh and A2i. A total of 45 top projects were selected for exhibition at the event.
IUB FormulaE operates under the supervision of Dr Khosru Md Salim, Professor in the Department of EEE and Director of the Green Energy Research Centre (GERC) at IUB.
Team members include: Md Mohiuddin Shuvo, Kallyen Kumar Tirtho, Syed Alif Ahmed Prothom, Kazi Shafin Al-Fee, Mahir Asif Sadman, Feroj Al Morsadi, Nowfil Bin Atiq, Mahady Mohammad Mainul, Nafisa Amin, Md Tahsin Hoq Bhuiyan, Md Shafin Rahman, Khadizatul Kubra Mow, Ankit Roy, Shakil Talukder, Tazwarul Amin, Arifin Imran, Sadman Sami, and Rayat Al Mueed.
