IUB to host int’l conf’ce on culture

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) will host a two-day international conference at its campus in Dhaka, starting Thursday.
The event will focus on how culture and creative industries shape national narratives, identities and economies.
Organised by the Department of Media and Communication, the conference will bring together academics, researchers and practitioners, according to a press release.
The programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and 12 parallel sessions covering a wide range of themes, including media, representation, storytelling, audience perception, and the evolving dynamics of creative industries.
Prof. Craig Batty, pro-vice chancellor at the University of Adelaide, Australia, is scheduled to deliver the keynote on the opening day. Prof. Dr. Daniel W. Lund, pro-vice chancellor of IUB, will deliver the keynote on the second day.
