Tracey Ann Jacobson, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, joined the US Embassy Dhaka as Chargé d'affaires (ad interim) on Saturday, reports UNB.

"With extensive experience in diplomacy, having served as US Ambassador to Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kosovo, and a commitment to fostering strong international relationships, Ambassador Jacobson looks forward to leading Mission Dhaka with dedication and vision," said the US Embassy in Dhaka in a message.

The Embassy said they are thrilled to welcome their new interim Chargé d'Affaires to Bangladesh Jacobson.

With Jacobson's arrival as Chargé d'affaires, Megan Bouldin resumed duties as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy Dhaka.

Over the course of her distinguished career, she has served as US Ambassador three times - to Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kosovo, and most recently, Jacobson served as a Senior Advisor in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.

Prior to that assignment, she served as Chargé d'affaires, at the US Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
