Poet Jafar Ahmed Chowdhury on Monday unveiled the cover of his new poetry book 'Samakal Ekti Kabita Ekti Kabbay' in the ongoing Amar Ekushey Grontho Mela (Book Fair) in the capital.

In the 18-page book released by Gyan Bitoroni Publications, the poet's writings speak for humanity with an earnest appeal to all human beings irrespective of caste, colour and creed to resist all types of cruelties to make the earth livable.

Mr Chowdhury, a former bureaucrat, has so far authored a number of books of poetry and novels and short stories-adventurous and historical.

'Samakal Ekti Kabita Ekti Kabbay' is the 9th of his poetry books.

For his extraordinary writings, Jafar Ahmed Chowdhury received various awards like Atish Dipankar Scholar Award, Sher-e-Bangla Sahitya Puraskar and Jatiya Nazrul Samaj Sahitya Puraskar.
