Jagannath University holds training on CBT

The Department of Psychology at Jagannath University (JnU), under the University Grants Commission's Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Sub-Project, organised a two-day training programme and certificate-awarding ceremony on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) on the university campus in the city on Monday, according to a statement.
JnU Treasurer Professor Dr Sabina Sharmin attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
She said modern society is facing increasing uncertainty, technological challenges and generational gaps, all of which significantly affect mental well-being.
She also emphasised the crucial role of evidence-based psychological interventions such as CBT in maintaining mental stability and resilience.
JnU Professor Dr Mallik Akram Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences, attended the certificate-awarding ceremony as the chief guest.
The programme was chaired by Professor Dr Asoke Kumar Saha, Sub-Project Manager of the HEAT Sub-Project. Professor Dr Kazi Saifuddin, Associate Sub-Project Manager (ASPM), attended the event as the special guest.
