Japan to provide Tk 370m in grant

Japan will provide a grant equivalent to Tk 370 million to implement the Fourth Primary Education Development Programme of Bangladesh, sources said.

The Japanese embassy in Dhaka has informed the finance ministry in this regard recently.

The grant will be made available by concluding a grant agreement between the recipient or its designated authority and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Such grant will be available during such period as may be specified in the agreement, provided the period will be between the date of entry into force of the agreement and December 31, 2025.

The period may be extended by mutual consent between the authorities concerned of the two governments.
