Japanese ambassador calls on DU VC

Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman on Wednesday at the latter's office of the university.

DU Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Senior Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Yasuhiro Kawazoe were present on this occasion.

During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest and exchanged views regarding the ongoing joint academic and research activities at Dhaka University in collaboration with Japan and JICA.

Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki said, "We are interested to further strengthen our mutual cooperation with DU and take it to a new height."

He informed the VC of DU that JICA would send Japanese volunteers to teach Japanese language at the Institute of Modern Languages of DU.
