Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) organized a doa and milad mahfil at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University on Friday afternoon, seeking eternal peace and forgiveness for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The prayer program was held at 5:00 pm on the TSC premises, with the participation of central and Dhaka University unit leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal.

Among those present were Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir along with leaders from various units.

Addressing the gathering, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib said that the organization must protect and uphold the sacred legacy left behind by Begum Khaleda Zia and martyred President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam. He emphasized that this responsibility lies with Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.

He further stated that Khaleda Zia's politics were marked by uncompromising struggle and a deep concern for the people of Bangladesh. "She always prioritized the interests of the people above her personal or party interests. Upholding her ideals, Chhatra Dal will continue the struggle to protect Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty," he said.

Rakib added that the unfinished struggle left by Khaleda Zia would continue under the leadership of BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The programme concluded with prayers for the departed leader and for peace, democracy, and prosperity in the country.
