Jordan urged to open embassy in Bangladesh

Bangladesh and Jordan are in discussions to convene bilateral Foreign Office Consultations (FOC), with a view to strengthening the bilateral relations in areas of tourism, trade and investment, employment and recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in Jordan, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Jordan Nahida Sobhan met newly appointed Foreign Secretary of Jordan Dr Yousef Bataineh and discussed issues of mutual interest, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday. The Ambassador requested to arrange meetings between the business communities of both the countries.
Ambassador Sobhan also requested opening an Embassy of Jordan in Bangladesh. She praised the Jordanian Government for their management of coronavirus.
The Ambassador expressed her contentment at the Jordanian government's initiatives to ensure labour rights in Jordan including labour rights of migrant workers.
