JUCSU: New committee takes oath today

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected committee of Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) will be held today (Thursday) at 4:00 PM at the university's Senate Hall.
Professor Dr Md Kamrul Ahsan, vice-chancellor and JUCSU president, will administer the oath to the newly elected office bearers, according to a statement from Md Mahiuddin, acting director of the university's Public Relations Office.
"The university administration, members of the JUCSU Election Commission, hall provosts, deans of all faculties, journalists, and other stakeholders have been invited to attend the programme," said Professor Dr A K M Rashidul Alam, proctor of the university and Member-Secretary of the JUCSU election commission.
The JUCSU election, held on September 11 after a hiatus of 33 years, saw results declared on September 13. In this election, Abdur Rashid Zitu, a candidate from the Swatantra Shikkharthi Sammilon panel, was elected vice president (VP), while Shibir-backed candidate Mazharul Islam secured the post of general secretary (GS).
