Justice Diliruzzaman removed from HC

The President has removed Justice Khondaker Diliruzzaman, judge, High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court, from his position, according to a law ministry notification issued on Wednesday.

The President removed him on the basis of a report submitted by the Supreme Judicial Council, according to a news update published on the website of the Supreme Court.

Diliruzzaman was among the 12 HC judges who were temporarily removed from their judicial duties on October 20, 2024, following student protests demanding the resignation of judges, whom they called "partisan, corrupt, and fascist-aligned".

Khondaker Diliruzzaman was appointed as an additional justice of the High Court Division on May 31, 2018. He was then promoted as a justice of the High Court Division on May 30, 2020.
