Killer of Shahjalal held from Dinajpur

RANGPUR, Oct 13 (BSS): Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested abductor-cum killer of child Shahjalal of Brahmanbaria from a village in Dinajpur district on Sunday afternoon, RAB officials disclosed this at a press briefing here this afternoon.

The arrested killer is Shamser Ali, 20, son of Alon Mina of village Dakshin Khan under Kasba upazila in Brahmanbaria district.

In the press briefing, Commanding Officer (CO) of RAB-13 Kismat Hayat told media that Shomsher was arrested by a special team of the elite force led by Major Sahed from village Patuapara in Dinajpur district.

During primary interrogation, Shamser admitted that he had abducted his cousin Shahjalal, 8, son of Nazrul Islam of the same village on July 26, took him to a nearby 'Beel', made him unconscious by giving sedative medicine and left him there at night.

Taking the mobile phone number as base for investigation, members of RAB-14 and RAB-13 started their efforts to nab the criminal and RAB-13 finally arrested him from Dinajpur.
