Light rainfall in city

The city witnessed a light 5.0 mm rainfall on Tuesday while humidity further increased in the air on the day.

High humidity was present in the air on the day which ranged from 92 per cent to 78 per cent.

For higher humidity, people in some parts of the city felt a damp and hot atmosphere at home.

However, a 8-15 kph wind also blew over the city on the day which gave some relief to people in the evening.

The city's maximum temperature was recorded at 31.1 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 26.5 degrees on the day until 6.00 pm.

The country's highest temperature was recorded at 35 degrees in Rajshahi and lowest at Teknaf at 23 degrees.

Highest rain of the country was recorded at Teknaf on the day at 164 mm.

Met Office forecasted light to moderate rain in most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions while many places over Sylhet and Dhaka divisions in next twenty four hours.

Only a few places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions might experience rain, it said.

Both day and night temperature might remain static in next twenty four hours across the country.

The sun sets at 6: 29 pm today (Wednesday) and will rise at 5:36 am tomorrow (Thursday) in Dhaka.
