Malaysia Day flag raising ceremony held

The High Commission of Malaysia in Bangladesh organised a Malaysia Day flag raising ceremony in the city on Wednesday marking its 63 years of independence and 57 years of the formation of Malaysia, said a statement.

Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia Amir Farid Abu Hasan and other officials were present on the occasion.

The flag raising ceremony was carried out by flag bearers from the Malaysian Armed Forces.

Amir Farid Abu Hasan said Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia and Father of Independence, was a man who was ahead of his time as the country had gained its independence through negotiations and diplomacy.
