Man gets life in prison for violating girl

MANIKGANJ, Feb 06 (UNB): A tribunal here on Wednesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for violating a schoolgirl after abduction in Singair Upazila 12 years ago.
The convict is Golam Mostafa, son of Mofizuddin of Sudkhira village. He was tried in absentia as he jumped bail.
The court also fined him Tk 50,000.
According to the prosecution, Golam Mostafa used to harass the girl on her way to and from school.
