Man held after three of a family found dead in N'ganj

Police have said the three dismembered bodies found packed in sacks in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj are from the same family, reports bdnews24.com.

Md Yasin, husband of one of the victims, Lamia Akter, has been detained for questioning, said Shahinur Alam on Friday.

Police identified the victims as Lamia (22), her 4-year-old son Abdullah, identified by single names, and Lamia's elder sister Swapna Akter (35).

Around 1:15 pm on Friday, police rushed to Mijimiji Paschimpara after locals reported the discovery of dismembered bodies stuffed in sacks near a pond.

According to initial findings, the family resided at a home they rented this month in the locality. The bodies were half-buried beside a road close to the house.

Earlier, the officer said: "Locals saw a chopped hand poking out from one of the sacks and called the police. Police arrived and found the dismembered bodies of two women and a child stuffed in three sacks."
