MATS students block Shahbag to press for four-pt demand

Students of the Medical Assistants Training School (MATS) have staged a demonstration blocking a road in the capital's Shahbag with a list of four demands, including immediate recruitment to vacant positions in the 10th grade and the creation of new positions in the government and private sectors, reports bdnews24.com.

The students took up positions at the key intersection around 1:00 pm on Wednesday, said Mohammad Khalid Mansur, chief of Shahbag Police Station.

The police official also said this led to traffic congestion on the road.

OC Mansur said, "MATS students have blocked a road in Shahbag with their demands. The road is still closed, and traffic is at a standstill there."

The demands include immediate recruitment to vacant positions in the 10th grade, employment, and the creation of new positions in the government and private sectors.
