Mercury falls slightly in city

FE Report | September 14, 2020 00:00:00

Mercury declined to some extent in the city on Sunday amid rain and wind.

But a 9.0 mm rainfall brought sufferings for city-dwellers by creating water logging in some places that caused traffic congestions in many key points of the city.

A 75 to 95 per cent humidity remained on the day until evening while a 10-15 kph wind speed also persisted that brought some coolness.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 33.9 degrees Celsius on the day and minimum temperature was 28 degrees until 6:00 pm, said Met Office.

The country's highest temperature of 35.5 degrees was recorded in Chuadanga on the day.

The country's lowest temperature was measured at 24.5 degrees at Sayedpur in Nilphamari.

The country's highest rainfall of 105 mm was recorded also at Sayedpur.

Light to moderate rain was likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in five other divisions in the next twenty four hours starting from Sunday 6:00 pm.

The sun sets at 6:03 pm today (Monday) and will rise at 5:45 am tomorrow (Tuesday).
