Mercury rises further

Mercury in the city continued to rise on Saturday amid lack of rain and low wind speed on the day.

Higher presence of humidity also raised the heat further for the people.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 35.1 degrees Celsius on the day and minimum temp was 28.7 degrees.

The wind speed was below 11 kph on the day until 7.30 pm, said the Met Office.

The country's highest temperature of 36 degrees was recorded in Rajshahi and the lowest 25 degrees both in Nikli and Teknaf.

The country's highest rainfall of 67 mm was recorded in Rajarhat.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions while only at one or two places in other regions in next twenty-four hours starting from Saturday 7:30 pm.

The sun will set in the city at 06.11 pm today (Sunday) and will rise at 05.42 am tomorrow (Monday).
