Mercury rises in city

Mercury in Dhaka inched up further on Tuesday as no mentionable rainfall was recorded on the day.
The Met Office recorded the maximum temperature at 34.6 degrees Celsius in the city on the day from 33 degrees Celsius in the previous day.
The country's highest temperature, on the other hand, was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Rangamati on the day.
However, the highest rainfall in the country was recorded at 44 millimeters in Kumarkhali until 6:0pm on Tuesday.
The Met Office forecasted that light to moderate rain or thunder shower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions today (Wednesday).
The sun sets at 05:33 pm today (Wednesday) and will rise at 05:56 am tomorrow (Thursday).
