Mercury slightly declines in city amid heavy wind

Mercury slightly declined in Dhaka city on Monday afternoon amid a heavy south-easterly wind.
Though the city witnessed almost no rain on the day until 7:00 pm, 15-25 kph wind gave the city some coolness in the afternoon.
Humidity was as high as 79 in the morning which declined to 54 per cent in the evening.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 33.6 degrees Celsius on the day and minimum temperature was 28.6 degrees.
The country's highest temperature of 35.8 degrees was recorded in Patuakhali and the lowest of 24 degrees in Tentulia.
The country's highest rainfall of 192 mm was recorded in Mymensingh on the day.
Light to moderate rains were likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions while at few places in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions in next twenty four hours starting from Monday 7:00 pm.
The sun sets at 6:09 pm today (Tuesday) and will rise at 5:43 tomorrow (Wednesday), said Met Office.
