Migration process to go under automation this year: Imran

The migration of Bangladeshi jobseekers will be brought under automation to save them from harassment by brokers and recruiting agencies, State Minister for Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmad told parliament on Thursday, reports UNB.

Replying to a question from treasury bench member Sayeda Rubina Akter (reserved seat for women), he also said the government has taken steps to update the Overseas Employment and Migration Act 2013 to this end.

"Steps have been taken to bring all the activities --from the beginning to end of migration--under the automation process to ensure transparency and accountability in overall recruiting process in a bid to end the harassment caused by middlemen," he said.
