Ministry forms body to probe HSC 'GPA- 5 irregularities'

The Education Ministry has formed a four-member probe committee to investigate the allegation of some irregularities in HSC results, reports UNB.

The committee was formed in response to a news report titled 'Selling GPA 5', telecast on June 10 by a private satellite channel of Bangladesh, reports UNB.

Additional Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department Md Mahamud-ul-Haq is made the convener of the committee, said a release issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education on Monday.

The other members of the committee are-- a professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department (CSE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Yunus Ali, joint secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ahmad Shamim - Al Razi and Deputy Secretary, Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within the next seven working days.

The report of Maasranga Television claimed that a deputy examination controller of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board and a staff of the Board, including some educational institution heads of Uttara area were involved with the alleged wrongdoing.
