Moderate rain reduces mercury in city

A moderate rainfall was recorded in Dhaka until 6:0pm on Wednesday, which helped decrease mercury to some extent.
The Met Office recorded the maximum temperature in Dhaka at 33 degrees Celsius on Wednesday compared to that of 34.2 degrees in the previous day.
On the other hand, the country's maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur and minimum temperature at 22.2 in Tentulia on the day.
The Met Office, however, forecasted that rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind may occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattrogram divisions today (Thursday).
Besides, many places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a few places over Rangpur division may also witness moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls, according to the Met Office.
Day and night temperature may fall by 1.0 to 2.0 degrees Celsius over the country, it said.
The sun sets at 5:26 pm in Dhaka today (Thursday) will rise at 6:0am tomorrow (Friday).
