Authorities have deployed MRT Police personnel to enhance security on the Dhaka Metro Rail, with at least two officers stationed inside each train to ensure passenger safety, reports bdnews24.com.
The move was made in line with the instructions of the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited
( DMTCL), according to Deputy Inspector General of MRT Police Siddiqui Tanzilur Rahman.
"MRT Police have been deployed to manage the large crowds, ease passenger concerns and ensure security. This decision was made under the guidance of the new managing director of the DMTCL," he said.
"Each train will have two police officers patrolling the compartments to monitor any issues. Additionally, an Ansar member may accompany them for added security," he added.
