Murder suspect dies in Jashore 'gunfight'

JASHORE, Aug 07 (UNB): A man accused in a murder case was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Mahidia in Sadar Upazila early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Shishir Ghosh, 30, son of Nitya Ghosh of the district town. He was wanted in 17 cases including those for murder and robbery, police said.

Shishir was arrested with four improvised bombs from Shankarpur area in the town on Tuesday night, said Mohammad Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
