National Youth Day today

The National Youth Day will be observed across the country today (Thursday) in a befitting manner, reports UNB.

The theme of this year is -"Youth awaken to build Bangladesh, Banghabandhu's Bangladesh".

Different government and non-government organisations have taken up elaborate programmes to mark the day.

A programme arranged by the Youth and Sports Ministry will be held at Banghabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC). PM Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the programme as the chief guest.

President Abdul Hamid and PM Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages marking the day. .

In a message President Abdul Hamid said Knowledge-oriented, skilled and ideal youth society is backbone of the nation.

Their position will be against drugs, terrorism and militancy.

To build the country as Sonar Bangla, the youths need to keep patriotism, dutifulness and affection towards people of the country awake."
