Go tough against terrorism,
extortion: PHQ
The Police Headquarters (PHQ) has asked the police personnel at the field levels to go tough against any sort of terrorism, extortion and mugging. "Take tougher legal action against terrorism, extortion and snatching," Md Akram Hossain, Additional Inspector General (crime and operations) told the field level police officers at a meeting held at the Police Headquarters on Monday. Four die as train hits
them in Lalmonirhat
LALMONIRHAT, Nov 11: Four people died after being hit by the Karatoa Express train in Alauddin Nagar at Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat on Monday. Patgram Station Master Nur Islam confirmed the matter. The deceased were identified as Azizur Rahman, Mobarak Hossain, Mokbul Hossain, and Abdul Wahab-all residents of Islam Nagar in Jongra union of the upazila. According to locals, the victims were threshing paddy near the railway tracks in Alauddin Nagar. They did not notice the train coming, leading to the fatal collision. They were rushed to the hospital but succumbed to injuries on the way. — UNB
Gas stove fire burns five
in city's Mirpur
Five people, including two couples, have suffered burns in a fire sparked while lighting a gas stove in Dhaka's Mirpur-13. The incident occurred at a home in Kafrul on Sunday night.
