Vitamin A plus campaign for
22.6m children tomorrow
The national Vitamin A plus campaign will be held tomorrow (Saturday). The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is determined to eliminate malnutrition and ensure good health for all children. To this end, about 22.6 million children aged between 6 and 59 months will be fed Vitamin A capsules through 1,20,000 permanent EPI centers across the country on March 15. The ministry has urged all parents and guardians who have children aged between 6 months and 5 years to take their children to the nearest EPI vaccination center, community clinic and other healthcare centers. - BSS
18 more dengue cases reported
Eighteen more new dengue cases were reported in the last 24 hours until Thursday morning, bringing the total number of cases to 1,669 this year. The number of deaths remained at 13, with no new fatalities reported. Currently, 88 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country, according to the DGHS. 176 more BD nationals set to return
home from Libya today
A group of 176 Bangladeshi nationals is set to return home from Libya early today (Friday) on Libyan Burak Air flight. The repatriation, which took place with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), includes 106 individuals who were detained at the Tajoura Detention Center in Tripoli, according to a message received from Bangladesh mission in Libya. The remaining 70 nationals voluntarily decided to return home from unsafe situations, it added. Bangladesh Ambassador to Libya Major General Abul Hasnat Muhammad Khairul Bashar, along with other embassy officials, bid farewell to the repatriated expatriates at the embassy premises and the detained migrants at the Libyan Immigration Department's reception center. — BSS
