NSU, GHL ink deal to offer 24/7 tele-mental health support

North South University (NSU) and Grameen HealthTech Ltd. (GHL) signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday to provide round-the-clock tele-mental health services for NSU students, faculty members and staff.

During the ceremony, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, vice chancellor, and Dr. Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, CEO, GHL, delivered remarks highlighting the growing importance of mental healthcare within academic institutions, according to a press release.

They emphasised the need to address the stigma and limited accessibility surrounding mental health services in Bangladesh.

Among others, Professor Dipak Kumar Mitra, dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences; Professor Shazzad Hossain, dean of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences; and Dr. Norman Swazo, director of research; represented NSU at the ceremony.

The GHL delegation included Mohammad Solaimun Rasel, chief technology officer and chief business officer; Barrister Ahmed Raquib Malik, chief compliance & people officer; Dr. Fahreen Hannan, international business lead; and Ahmed Sabbir, key account manager.
