One dies of dengue, 13 new Covid cases

Mosquito-borne dengue claimed the life of one, with 386 hospitalised, while a total of 13 new COVID-19 cases were reported across Bangladesh in 24 hours till Thursday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the latest figure, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 20,52,127, reports UNB.

A total of 312 samples were tested during the latest reporting period [between 8am Monday and 8am Thursday], resulting in a daily positivity rate of 4.17 per cent.

The overall positivity rate stands at 13.04 per cent till Thursday morning, while the fatality rate based on detected cases remains at 1.44 per cent.

Meanwhile, the new fatality from dengue raised the number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 43 this year.
