One more people have died of dengue infection while 453 new patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till Tuesday morning, reports bdnews24.com.
With the new counts, the number of people in hospitals with the fever has reached 97,159 this year. A total of 532 people died among them.
The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 176 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Tuesday morning.
In addition, 93 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 12 in the Mymensingh Division, 57 in the Chattogram Division, 42 in the Khulna Division, 40 in the Rajshahi Division, four in the Rangpur Division, and 29 in the Barishal Division.
The DGHS has been keeping records of dengue hospitalisations and deaths since 2000. Since then, a record 321,179 dengue hospitalisations were logged in 2023.
