Over 500 Indian fishermen held for intrusion near Payra port

PATUAKHALI, Jul 07 (UNB): Members of Coast Guard on Sunday detained over 500 Indian fishermen along with 32 trawlers in the Bay of Bengal near Payra port in Kolapara Upazila on charge of intruding into Bangladesh maritime territory.

Kolapara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Munibur Rahman said the Indian fishermen, hailing from different areas of West Bengal, were detained by a Coast Guard team from Raynabad Estuary at around 01:30 pm.
