PM to open higher education workshop at DU today

Prime Minister (PM) Tarique Rahman will inaugurate a daylong national workshop on higher education at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University at 10:00 am today (Tuesday). This will be the premier's first official visit to DU since assuming office, reports BSS.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has organised the workshop titled "Transforming Higher Education in Bangladesh: A Roadmap for Sustainable Excellence" with the aim of making the country's higher education system more modern and sustainable.

UGC Chairman Professor Mamun Ahmed presented the details of the workshop at a press conference on Monday. He said the workshop would play an important role in improving the quality of higher education and developing internationally competitive skilled human resources.
