PM unveils cover of B’desh Code

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina unveiled the cover of Bangladesh Code before the weekly cabinet meeting at her Tejgaon office in the city Monday, reports BSS.

"It's a chorological and serial publication of the laws published from the year 1799 to June, 2014 in 42 parts," said NM Ziaul Alam, secretary of the Cabinet Division (coordination and reforms) while briefing reporters at the secretariat.

The government has published the Bangladesh Code according to the Bangladesh Laws Division and Declaration Act 1983, he said.

The government first published the Bangladesh Code in 1980 compiling the laws until the year 1937 in 12 parts, Ziaul Alam added.
