Police arrest 12 from city’s Mdpur, Adabar

Police arrested 12 individuals on different charges from the capital's Mohammadpur and Adabar areas on Thursday.

A K M Mehedi Hasan, assistant police commissioner - Mohammadpur zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said the arrests were made during block raids by law-enforcers of Mohammadpur and Adabar police stations.

Of the arrestees, two were wanted criminals on robbery charge, while one was wanted for drugs case, two for DMP case, three for mugging, and the rest were involved in different criminal activities.

Six were arrested from Adabar area. Legal actions were taken against the arrestees, and they were sent to the court.

Earlier, following directives of the government, the law-enforcing agencies started block raids in different areas of the capital to maintain law and order for ensuring public safety. The drive would continue, he added.
