Police arrest three BCL, BSL men in city

Police arrested two leaders of banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and one activist of Bangabandhu Sainik League (BSL) in the capital's Khilgaon area.

The arrestees were Arifur Rahman Akash, general secretary of ward no-9, and Tahmidul Hasan, general secretary of ward no-8 under Motijheel thana unit of BCL; and Md Anwar Hossain Babu, member of Khilgaon thana unit of BSL, an associate organisation of outlawed Awami League.

The law-enforcers apprehended Akash and Tahmidul in front of Mukta Biriyani shop, and arrested Babu in front of Taltala market on Friday night, according to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) sources.
