Police ready to prevent anarchy centring national polls: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary said on Saturday the police personnel have been kept ready to prevent any sorts of anarchy centring the upcoming general election, reports BSS.

He came up with the opinion while replying to a query after attending a scholarship giving ceremony among the children of police personnel for their brilliant result in SSC and equivalent examinations.

It was held at Police Convention Centre of Police Staff College, Mirpur.

Speaking at the programme as the chief guest he said, "Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are the words carrying the same meaning. So, one must know Bangabandhu if he wants to be familiar with Bangladesh."

He asked the brilliant students not to limit their knowledge within textbooks rather to know the history of Bangladesh and love their own country.

Additional IGP Md Mohsin Hossain presided over the function. Among others, Principal of Bangladesh Police Academy, Rajshahi, Mohammad Najibur Rahman,

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia, spoke on the occasion.
