Police Week begins today

The Police Week-2018 will begin today (Monday) with the motto "Remedy of Militancy and Drugs: Commitment of Bangladesh Police", reports BSS.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the five-day programme on the Rajarbagh Police Lines ground in the city.

The PM will hand over awards in four categories to 182 policemen for their outstanding performance in 2017.

Of the police personnel, 30 will get Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) while 71 President Police Medal (PPM), 28 Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-Service) and 53 President Police Medal (PPM-Service) awards for their bravery and courage. The premier will also inaugurate the newly-constructed police auditorium at Rajarbagh.

On the eve of the Police Week-2018, President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina lauded the role of the members of Police in ensuring law and order defeating militancy and terrorism across the country.
