Press Council chief for providing economic security to journalists

Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Muhammed Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed said in the city on Sunday objective journalism cannot be flourished without providing economic security to journalists, reports BSS.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government formed wage boards and the welfare trust for journalists to provide their economic security," he said.
He came up with the observations while addressing as the chief guest at the annual general meeting of Bangladesh Journalists' Forum for Consumers and Investors (BJFCI) at the National Press Club.
Senior vice-president of the National Press Club and acting editor of the daily Jugantor Saiful Alam, Daily Ajkaler Khobor editor Azizul Islam Bhuiyan and Joint editor of the Bangladesh Pratidin Abu Taher, among others, addressed the programme.
BJFCI President Faruk Ahmed chaired the programme.
