Prime suspect on seven-day remand

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 06: A court here has granted seven-day remand to prime accused Chandan Das in the Advocate Saiful Islam Alif murder case.

The court also placed another accused, Ripon Das, on five days' remand for interrogation about the much-talked-about killing.

Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam on Friday passed the remand order during a hearing after police sought 10-day remand for both the suspects.

The court granted seven-day remand to Chandan Das and five-day remand to Ripon Das.

Both the suspects were produced before the court amid tight security measures. Law enforcers ensured constant vigilance on the court premises and surrounding areas.
