Rabiul Alam focuses on efficient functionality

Sheikh Rabiul Alam, the minister for rail, road and shipping ministries, on his first day at office, focused on efficient institutional functionality of these three important ministries, as BNP's target is to ensure proper utilisation of the taxpayers' money.

"My priority at this moment is to ensure efficient functionality of these ministries by reducing wastage of money and utilising the people's money for them," the minister told the FE in his first comment to media at his office at the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges on Wednesday.

Sheikh Rabiul, who is among the young and first-time ministers in the Cabinet, also said the party has got people's verdict, and the new Prime Minister's (PM) strong desire is to bring drastic changes in the state structure through systematic reforms. So, improvement of service deliveries would be given priority.
