Chief Adviser Professor Mohammad Yunus receiving a report of the Promotion Committee for Retired Officers Deprived of Promotion 2024 at the State Guest House Jamuna in the capital on Tuesday. — PID The committee, formed to review applications of government officers deprived of promotion during the past Awami League regime, submitted its report to Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Committee head Zakir Ahmed Khan along with other committee members presented the report with necessary recommendations to Chief Adviser at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday.
Deputy Press Secretary to the CA, Azad Mazumder, said on the day that the 5-member committee formed to review the applications of the civil servants, submitted their report to the CA.
The committee recommended promotion of 764 civil servants after assessing 1540 applications.
Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the CA, told the media on Tuesday the Competition Commission would be reconstituted soon to ensure fair prices of commodities.
Responding to a question on government steps in arresting the abnormal rise of prices of essentials, Mr Shafiqul said that the government was monitoring the commodity market on a regular basis and already prices of some essential commodities came down.
The potato prices came down to the range of Tk 70 to 80 from around Tk 120 some days ago, he pointed out.
