The lottery results for school admissions from first grade to ninth grade at all government schools and private schools at the metropolitan and district Sadar levels will be released in the afternoon today (Tuesday), reports bdnews24.com
The results will be sent by SMS to the mobile phone numbers students used the register. They will also be available on the admission website (https://gsa.teletalk.com.bd/).
The lottery will be held at the International Mother Language Institute.
Mohammad Aziz Uddin, deputy director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education's Secondary Wing and member secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan Admission Committee said: "The admission lottery will begin in the morning. The digital processing of the admission lottery will start between 10:30am and 11am."
"Usually the process takes around two to two-and-a-half hours to complete. Therefore, students will get their results around 2-2:30pm."
The results of the lottery can be downloaded and printed from the website using the login IDs and passwords guardians used to sign in. Head teachers will also be able to download the results of the lottery for their schools using their IDs and passwords.
This year, students across Bangladesh had the opportunity to apply for school admissions online from Nov 12 to Nov 30. In 18 days, a total of 983,539 students, from both government and private institutions applied for admission.
Nearly 635,072 students applied for admission to government schools, while 348,467 applied for private schools.
This time, there are a total of 1,116,389 vacant seats in 5,625 government and private schools.
According to the admission committee, as many as 635,072 people applied for 108,716 seats in 680 government schools.
