Three women's rights organisations demanded on Wednesday exemplary punishment for those who were involved in the killing and violating two tribal girls, reports UNB.

They made the demand at a human chain in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh in the city.

Hill Women's Federation, Bangladesh Adivasi Nari Network and Bangladesh Nari Pragati jointly organised the human chain programme.

A Class-X girl from Tripura community was reportedly gang-raped by Bangalee settlers at the Zilla Parishad Park in the district town of Khagrachhari on June 21. Police arrested five people after the incident.

A Marma girl was killed after being gang-raped allegedly by four Bangalee settlers in the district on June 17.
