Robbers loot valuables from a house in city, four injured

Robbers looted valuables from two houses in the capital's Mugda area early Monday, police said, reports UNB.

Sajedur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mugda Police Station, said a group of masked robbers, numbering 15-17, swooped on two houses, located on the fourth floor of the eight-story building and held the house inmates hostage at gunpoint around 3:00 am.

Later, they looted valuables from the two houses including cash and gold ornaments and managed to flee with the booty.

Four people including the owners of the two houses Humayun, Abdul Mannan, Humayun's wife Shahinur and Mannan's son Hasan were injured during the robbery.

Later, they were taken to Mugda Medical College and Hospital.

Among the injured, Humayun was undergoing treatment at the hospital while the others received first aid.
